Printer API Setup
Configure endpoint controls and camera preview per printer profile.
Before You Start
- Add your printer in My Printers first.
- Open that printer card and go to API Controls.
- Keep this page open while testing, so you can copy values exactly.
Setup Steps
- Open a printer in My Printers.
- Open API Controls sub-page.
- Set integration on, mode, endpoint, token, camera URL.
- Save and run Test Connection.
- Run low-risk commands before operational commands.
How To Get Endpoint URL
The endpoint comes from your printer ecosystem, bridge tool, or LAN control service.
- Check your printer app/device settings for local API/LAN control URL.
- If you use a bridge/service plugin, copy the base endpoint from that tool.
- Paste it into API Controls exactly as shown.
Tip
If you do not have a dedicated endpoint yet, you can still save camera URL and use non-command features.
How To Get API Token / Key
- Create or copy the access key from your printer platform/bridge tool.
- Paste into API Token / Key in API Controls.
- Avoid trailing spaces and line breaks.
- Click Save then Test Connection.
Bambu Workflow Notes
- Use provider Bambu in API Controls for Bambu printer profiles.
- Some operations can require Bambu Connect depending on your mode/environment.
- Start with Home / Cooldown / Fan tests before running print actions.
Command Test Order
- Test Connection
- Home Axes
- Fan 100% then Fan 0%
- Cooldown
- Preheat PLA
- Start Print (only after previous tests pass)
Camera Viewer
If stream cannot be loaded, the UI shows Feed not found (unable to retrieve video).
- Try opening the same camera URL in a browser tab.
- If tab opens but app fails, re-save URL and retry.
- If both fail, verify camera stream is enabled in your printer ecosystem.
Warnings
Safety
Do not expose local control endpoints publicly without authentication and network hardening.
Bambu note
Some start-print flows may require Bambu Connect depending on setup.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely Cause | What To Do |
|---|---|---|
| Test Connection fails | Endpoint or mode mismatch | Re-check endpoint and selected mode, then retry |
| Auth error | Token/key invalid | Regenerate/copy token again and save |
| No command effect | Provider/action mismatch | Confirm printer profile provider and run low-risk commands first |
| Camera feed not found | Bad URL or stream unavailable | Open URL in browser, verify stream is active, then re-save |
